Irene (Brown) Sykes, 84, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2017 from Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. lrene was born March 13,1932 to Mack Dickson Brown and Minnie Bell (Logsdon) Brown in Reah, AR. She was one of 14 children.

She grew up and attended elementary school in Cincinnati, AR and attended High School in Siloam Springs, AR, graduating in 1951. She graduated from Draughon Business College in Tulsa and worked for Oral Roberts Ministries as a typist in 1954.

Irene (Brown) Sykes, 84, went to be with the Lord on March 10, 2017 from Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. lrene was born March 13,1932 to Mack Dickson Brown and Minnie Bell (Logsdon) Brown in Reah, AR. She was one of 14 children.

She grew up and attended elementary school in Cincinnati, AR and attended High School in Siloam Springs, AR, graduating in 1951. She graduated from Draughon Business College in Tulsa and worked for Oral Roberts Ministries as a typist in 1954.
She met her husband, Robert Sykes, in Tulsa. They were married six weeks after their first date on June 20, 1954. After the birth of her first child, she went to work for television evangelist, Billy James Hargis. She had two more children in Tulsa. ln 1964, She and her family moved to Rogers, AR where she worked at House of Webster, the crane company, Rogers Tool Works and Wal-Mart Risks and Benefits Department.

lrene was a faithful member of Rogers First Church of the Nazarene. She loved music, singing in choirs and women's ministries. Besides church choirs, she was a member of Sweet Adelines, Amazing Grace Singers and the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by siblings, George Brown, Elmer Brown, Evelyn Brown, Betty Wright, Maxine Daywood, Lorene Corona, Charles Brown, Robert Brown and Leonard Brown.

lrene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Sykes of the home; three sons, Jeffrey Sykes and wife, Jeanne of Oklahoma City, OK, Ronald Sykes and wife, Doronda of Harrah, OK and Daryl Sykes of Bella Vista, AR; four grandchildren, Katherine Jones, Daryl Sykes Jr, Joseph Sykes and Allison Trimble; five great grandchildren, Cameron Dokes, Carter Dokes, Mary Beth Jones, Thomas Jones and Conner Trimble; two sisters, Retha Augustine and husband, Mike of Haileyville, OK and Mary Pekar of Angleton, TX; and two brothers, Cecil Brown and wife, Ethel of Victoria, TX and James Brown and wife, Linda of Laramie, WY and sister in law, Gussie Brown of Westville, OK.

Visitation will be at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers on Tuesday, March 14, 5-7 pm. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, March 15, 11. am at Rogers First Church of the Nazarene, 4911 W Pleasant Grove Rd, Rogers, AR. lnterment will be at the National Cemetery, Fayetteville, AR. .Arrangements by Rollins Funeral Services, Rogers, AR.
